June Meeting Minutes

We tried out fusemeeting as a way to do conference call. Results were mixed. A couple of people tried to dial in but evidently ran into room was full message.

Decided that we will have a "core group" meeting on Second and Forth Friday around lunch time.  Exact time and location to be decided.

Plone Admin Class for a small group of folks (two) in July.

Plone "get-start-fast class" target in August.  Charge folks some amount of money to attend (nominal).  TBD'ed do we offer through community ed. or RCTC.

You will get a CD that have VM machine that you can install and get a Plone up and running.

BEAM Vision Revisit for new members of the group

September 4, 2010 Meeting Notes (New Location: UMR Room 397)

1. Meeting frequencies and time: Once every other week at the most might scale back to once a month.
- Saturday at 9:30 seems to have the least conflict.
-  We tested the use of Web Conference. We will try Adobe Connect.
-- Has both video and audio, showing the desktop app functions. The next meeting we might just use web conference instead.
Web Conference Info can be found at this link
2. Al noted that Y Mentor has a new external website and we discussed the integration of the Y Mentor external website with YMAP site that we are building.
- Team raised concern about look and feel integration.
- Al explained the differences of a PR (internet) site vs a collaborative Team room (extra/intranet) site.
-- PR site attracts external traffic and once you join the "club" or organization and if you want to collaborate with the virtual team that's when you go to the "extra/intranet".
---  For example, IBM has a www.ibm.com external site and an w3.ibm.com intranet site for internal collaboration.
-- See Al's presentation to Greater Rochester Non-Profit team about the internet vs extranet/intranet site
-- However, YMAP team does need to talk to the Y about the linkages to ensure positioning understanding.
3. We talked about the URL for YMAP. Right now, it's under vt.middlewaygroup.cpm  .  At deployment, it can have its own URL.
4.  We do have a dependency on the Survey form format from the Y Mentor team. Al is meeting with Y Mentor team once every other week.
5. Al showed team how to use "My Folder" to create each member's content in their own space. A good way to hold temporary and individual info.
6. We talked about offering collaboration tooling for other non-profits.  We are open to that possibility.

September 4, 2010 Meeting (New Location: UMR Room 397)

1. How often and when should we meet -- survey results

Additional Options:

- Conference call
- Web video call
- Discussion forum

- IT Team may upload info (such as instructions on how to do certain things)  to be shared with Y Mentor Team at the Misc Folder and categorize the content Case Manager
